8/3/2012

You're getting better at getting up on your hands and knees. Last night you spent an hour just talking and yelling at nothing in particular. Daddy says you have another tooth cutting in, and I keep trying to get a picture to share with Gigi of the tooth you already have (it's coming in FAST!), but you're not being very cooperative lol. I miss you while I'm at work all day, and I hate that I'm so tired when you're awake and I get home. Last night though you were very fussy and didn't want to sleep so I held you on my chest and shushed, and patted your back and rocked you and bounced you and then just laid down with you until you calmed down and eventually fell asleep. I fell asleep too, of course, until daddy started talking about me being asleep. I'm exhausted at work today, but I just keep thinking about you falling asleep on my chest, and how much I love you and how absolutely adorable you are. I wish I could spend more time with you, but bills have to paid, and we have to have money for groceries and doctor's visits and food for you, darlin'. I love you with all my heart, and I can't wait to see you :D

Daddy's

It’s been a long time coming, all five months, it seems, but it looks like you’re ready for us to start experimenting with real food. We started with the rice cereal in your milk last night and you love it! Well yeah. Mommy and I are both afraid that you’ll inherit Daddy’s food allergies, so we have to be careful. I don’t know what baby foods are out there that don’t involve some form of banana-related squish. Very soon now you’ll be getting little snacky things and munching on Cheerio’s, and I am so very, very proud of you for that. We just need to work you past this Michael Jackson crotch grab phase you’re going through at the moment (Then again, you’re a boy, I don’t know if you ever truly will). We’ve got a recipe down for now though. Your bottles are getting less formula to make room for the rice, and you’re so full when you eat now! I haven’t seen your belly puff up like that in a long while, and truth be told, you’re back to spitting up just once! I know that is a sad thing to be proud of, but for the longest time we only had the formula, and it so wasn’t enough for you …but enough about filling your belly. You’ve grown so much over the past five months; it’s hard to believe that I was so scared to hold you not too long ago. You are beautiful, baby. You are loved. Now if I can just get you to stop trying to pull off your diaper while I’m posting this, everything should be fine…

8/1/2012 Crawling! Backwards

Mommy's

The Prince has been taking HUGE steps, especially when I help support his weight, but he's been doing that for at least a month. He's been rolling over on his back, with screams to accompany it, and we're searching for a walker since he's so ready to go!

Uncle J set him down on the carpet this past weekend, and was encouraging him to crawl. I never really knew how to work on it with him since he'd just scream and want to be picked back up whenever I tried. So I left it alone for a while. Then we moved into a spacious carpeted place on 7/6/12. So over the past few days, I've set him down and he pushes himself WAY up on his hands, and the pushes himself backwards! He covers a pretty good distance! His bottom tooth just keeps pushing in, it looks bigger every time I see it!

He's a very happy baby, all laughs and giggles and talking and even fussing and yelling at things. He cries when he's hungry, sleepy, or needs a diaper change. We've got to keep up with giving him water so he doesn't cry when he's pooping. He's had problems in terms of it being very hard.

Last checkup you were 16lbs and some change, (mommy's horrible about keeping up with this stuff!). And you LOVE being outside. Sometimes when you're fussy I just walk outside with you and you immediately stop fussing and just look around. We've been out in thunderstorms and you don't even jump! It takes really loud noises (or anyone laughing!) to scare you
