The Prince

It's been a long time since I've written. There's lots going on with work and Daycare and we moved to a new apartment and we got Ellie and you're alllmost talking talking. I still have trouble deciphering a lot of it, but your enthusiasm when working on it is infectious! I'm sooo tired lately, and I wish I had more time to spend with you. This week you're with drake since Cheryl is on vacation. I wish I could build up the time to take a vacation, I need it! But we'll be seeing your dad's family for Thanksgiving, and two weeks with Gigi! For Christmas. Gigi sends you video mail at least once a week, and you replay it over and over and over while parroting what she says. I'm at work right now, and I miss you so much! I can't wait to see you.

Almost there!!
You're almost a year old! You're very active and love to play with books and toys, and eat your socks! You refuse to leave socks on, and we have better luck with the skidders. You are 21 lbs. 11 oz. and 31 3/8" long. You're so big! Your birthday is next wednesday and I'm so excited! GG and Popop will be there that evening so we can celebrate!

Progress
You're getting better at hands and knees, and Gigi and Popop got to see you do it on facetime. You look like you're trying so hard to fly! Then you push up with your arms until your entire upper body is off the ground. Then you'll drop your head and arms and push your butt up in the air, then you'll lay on your side like you're tired, then all of a sudden you'll kick out like you're just going to shoot forward! It's amazing :D
Long time no TALK!
Ok so you're not talking yet, and mommy's been busy so I haven't been updating this like I should. You're crawling, oh so expressive, you like to hit things, you don't put things in your mouth (which makes trying to get you to feed yourself a bit of a problem :P ) You crawl really fast and it's so CUTE! You definitely don't look the same, and we're on the umpteenth number of babysitters. Currently you're with Alma's daycare after A Kind Garden didn't work out. As far as we can tell you enjoy Alma's a lot! You laugh and your baby talk is starting to sound closer and closer to words. My favorite phrase to you now is "NO Pancakes!" because Pigs shouldn't have any, especially when they ruin your house and run you ragged if you give them some. ("If you give a pig a pancake") I've been trying to read to you more, and you have a pretty good attention span. You're very social (Pisces), and I've heard good reports about you at daycare, but I've also seen even from you being a newborn that you were social. You didn't often cry and it makes mommy feel good and sad all at once, because being so social it's hard to tell based on your reaction if you don't like someone. I only recently realized that you will get down and crawl and explore if you feel comfortable, which is often hard to do anyway since you're a baby and everyone finds you so cute anyway everyone wants to hold you lol. So, yes, you're spoiled, but that's ok :D. I miss you a lot while I'm at work, and I love coming home and seeing you and spending time with you. We need to work on that temper though!
Being a mommy is hard juggling so many different things, bills and supplies and daycare and work and I get very tired, but it always feels good to see you! And it's worth it all :). I'm trying to get some things together to make it a little easier so Mommy doesn't stress out as much and so we can spend more time together!! I love you!
Oh and you are a VORACIOUS eater! You eat anything and everything, but you do like variety, and don't like eating the same thing for a while, even in the same feeding. I'm glad you're not a picky eater, because when money's tight it's hard to keep up with formula and baby food and I often default to just giving you whatever I have, and have been buying groceries with that in mind, chicken, rice potatoes, pasta, I have to add more vegetables though. And hopefully money won't be so tight for too long
I love you!

You're getting better at getting up on your hands and knees. Last night you spent an hour just talking and yelling at nothing in particular. Daddy says you have another tooth cutting in, and I keep trying to get a picture to share with Gigi of the tooth you already have (it's coming in FAST!), but you're not being very cooperative lol. I miss you while I'm at work all day, and I hate that I'm so tired when you're awake and I get home. Last night though you were very fussy and didn't want to sleep so I held you on my chest and shushed, and patted your back and rocked you and bounced you and then just laid down with you until you calmed down and eventually fell asleep. I fell asleep too, of course, until daddy started talking about me being asleep. I'm exhausted at work today, but I just keep thinking about you falling asleep on my chest, and how much I love you and how absolutely adorable you are. I wish I could spend more time with you, but bills have to paid, and we have to have money for groceries and doctor's visits and food for you, darlin'. I love you with all my heart, and I can't wait to see you :D

Daddy's
It’s been a
long time coming, all five months, it seems, but it looks like you’re ready for
us to start experimenting with real food. We started with the rice cereal in
your milk last night and you love it! Well…
yeah. Mommy and I are both afraid that you’ll inherit Daddy’s food allergies,
so we have to be careful. I don’t know what baby foods are out there that don’t
involve some form of banana-related squish. Very soon now you’ll be getting
little snacky things and munching on Cheerio’s, and I am so very, very proud of
you for that. We just need to work you past this Michael Jackson crotch grab
phase you’re going through at the moment (Then again, you’re a boy, I don’t
know if you ever truly will). We’ve got a recipe down for now though. Your
bottles are getting less formula to make room for the rice, and you’re so full
when you eat now! I haven’t seen your belly puff up like that in a long while,
and truth be told, you’re back to spitting up just once! – I know that is a sad thing to be proud of, but for the
longest time we only had the formula, and it so wasn’t enough for you …but
enough about filling your belly. You’ve grown so much over the past five months;
it’s hard to believe that I was so scared to hold you not too long ago. You are
beautiful, baby. You are loved. Now if I can just get you to stop trying to
pull off your diaper while I’m posting this, everything should be fine…
